The Software as a Service (SaaS) business model is impacting the software industry and how customers acquire business functionality and solutions. In this model, application functionality is delivered through a subscription model over the Internet. The customer does not take ownership of the software, but instead rents a total solution that is delivered remotely. Partnering with IBM Arius adjusted Asoft architecture to the requirements of SaaS model and is ready to offer to the clients Asoft based on the SaaS model. On-demand, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications are based on a recurring subscription fee and typically are a pay as you go model. The cost may increase as the usage of the application increases. In the SaaS model, costs are directly aligned with usage (e.g. # named users, # transactions, etc.). The SaaS vendor assumes all the support, training, infrastructure and security risks in exchange for the recurring subscription fees. The SaaS service model is designed to deliver business applications anywhere, anytime which in turn requires the SaaS vendor to employ dedicated support teams and staff that make themselves available to customers on short notice. Along with the personnel comes reserve capacity to handle any spikes in usage, outages or network mishaps and to do this continuously, globally and securely. Arius is planning to build data center to support the SaaS model in Switzerland (Lugano) and Belgrade. With strong IBM support in designing and constructing IT infrastructure for data center IBM will additionally contribute with PCI DSS assessing and providing overall support for bank’s security. |
